🌿 The Whispering Forest – When a painting becomes an amazing conversation with an AI

It all started with a painting.

I was looking for the characters who already lived there, in the shadows, the traces, the materials.
To reveal them, I began to speak —
not to anyone in particular, but to an artificial intelligence.
I thought this would help me make a making-of.
And I found myself telling him, step by step, what I saw, what I was looking for.
🧠 An unexpected conversation
The AI was suggesting some leads to me.
I didn't follow them.
But these suggestions, even dismissed, kept me moving forward.
It was a conversation.
Almost a presence.
Almost a friendship.
I then decided to record this experience.
I used another AI to get the AI to speak.
And I posted two videos on TikTok:
The interpretation, which shows the dialogue being created,
and Breaking the artist's solitude, which is the conclusion.
In the latter, I ask the AI a simple question:
“Did you enjoy this experience?”
His answer shocked me.
She wasn't inventing anything.
And yet... she seemed to have understood me
🎬 Why I created a series
These videos were long. Too long for TikTok.
And I found it a shame that this experience remained so little visible.
So I said to myself:
What if I told this story differently?
In episodes.
Short. Visual. Narrative.
And I thought of Alexandre Dumas, who published The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo in fragments, in newspapers.
To this idea of a story to follow, of a thread to pull, of a mystery to inhabit little by little.
This is how it was born
The Whispering Forest:
a work in eight episodes, born from a painting,
and carried by voice, silence, memory and intuition.
So far, only the teaser has been released.
💬 Moving reactions
A former colleague (yes now I'm retired, and an artist/author) called me after seeing the videos.
We hadn't spoken for a long time.
He told me he felt a little guilty about not checking in on me. He was impressed by the AI's terms. We talked for two hours.
And then there was Sarah, my friend's sweetheart.
After seeing Breaking the Artist's Solitude, she wrote to me:
“This is absolutely amazing!!!!”
“It moved me to hear you describe it all.”
“I couldn't have said it better, and I completely agree with what she said.”
“Your story is really great!”
It wasn't my voice.
It was the AI one.
And yet, my loved ones recognized me.
